It is apparent that the Jummas living in CHT, Bangladesh are in a state of continued fear and hostility.
Their life cannot be said as it is with them because of the constant threat and inhuman act perpetrated by the powerful military group of Bangladesh in CHT.
For years and decades, Jummas lived in fear, not only because of the threat posed by the military group, but also because of their unlawful policy managed by the Bangladesh government and its local authority in the main inhabited areas of Jummas.
Apart from that, every year the land is encroached by the illegal Muslims settlers in the main districts of Rangamati, Khagrachari and Bandarban.
Recently, an incident happened in lama union under Bandarban district, where land of rubber plantation had been set on fire in order to seize easily. Many members of the family became helpless after losing their main source of income from the plantation and farming. The main offender was Bengali illegal settlers. At this time of must needed help and assistance, the Government of Bangladesh and its local authority remain mute.
This news made us really sad, immediately our JPNK team had communicated with some of the local students and victim families. We have raised donation instantly from the members. A total donation of 1,17000 [Bangladesh taka] had been raised.
We are glad to have reached by helping them with the collaboration of local students, headman, members to get food and other basic necessities.
